Random Camping

We randomly decided to go camping this weelend again...this time its with Javi and Isa and not Anisa...I wish someday we can go camping with all of the kids together...soooomeday

Before leaving, we just lounged and took our time like we normally do on the weekends....we gave Noah some apple to suck on and he really enjoyed it. i was afraid that he was going to all of a sudden take a big'ol chunk out of it so i stopped giving it to him. he wasnt too happy about that, but we decided to cheer him up by taking him out on a walk to go get some pan dulce...he loves those walks!!!! and being that it is October, we took him out in a skeleton outfit and his mickey mouse sunglasses....When we got home, I had a brilliant idea (that i saw on the food network) of grilling honeydew melon with ham...i think the tangy from the ham and the sweet from the melon balanced very well and the kids liked it, which was a little surprising.

After breakfast, we packed and loaded the car for our random camping trip to Pismo Beach..of course we got sidetracked every chance we got...i hate packing so i was the one who was primarily lagging...in the end we were finally on the road. We left about 2 hours later than we planned...

We only made it about a mile outside of Guadalupe when i started hearing noises coming from the roof of the car. Immediately we stopped after i stuck my head out the window and noticed that Javi's bike was falling off the top. He begged us to take it and i gave in...hubby fastened it but apparently not very secure...it started rolling off the top. I never felt more ghetto driving out of Guadalupe than i did at this moment....Finally though after this minor complication, we made it to the campsite...Hubby set up camp before it got dark and we went to visit my aunt and uncle at their camphost site (they are camp host for a few months out of the year at local campgrounds). We had dinner there then ran some of our own errands and headed back to our camp because we had my other aunt and uncle waiting for us...they wanted to visit with the kiddies....thats always a party...lol....even though its only an extra 3 kids it seems like an extra 10 kids with all of ours together...fun times though!

We woke up early on Sunday morning and after breakfast walked to the beach. Noah has been to the beach a few times before, but this was his first time sticking his "barney rubble" toes in the water and the sand...he was very interested in it and at one point he wanted to sit in the sand. but im such a paranoid person, i thought he'd stick a whole chunk of sand in his mouth...it was best for us to just hold him...

I was able to play with Javi and Isa in the waves. We werent really supposed to get entirely wet, just our feet, but we were having so much fun that "rules" didnt really apply at that moment...Im happy the kids had a blast!

We came home early and my dad surprised us by coming to visit. We ended up going back to my aunt and uncle's campsite to have dinner again even though we were all very exhausted. Kids had fun though so thats all that really matters... :)
