Lazy day includes a trip to SLO Farmer's Market & NEW SLO Target!

Anisa is such a great BIG sister, especially in the mornings when I want to stay asleep! This morning Noah almost climbed out of his crib and she tried to help him but I caught him and took him out, then went back to sleep. She fed him a granola bar until I finally got up to feed them breakfast. By then Anisa had changed herself and served her own bowl of cereal and poured some dry cereal on Noah's high chair! :) Days like this she makes me smile......
....UNTIL I smelled polish remover from the restroom to the living room and found her changing her clothes again because she spilled the bottled on herself while painting her nails blue. She is a a girl and Noah is her side kick. And sometime between that moment and the time Armando came home, he drew all over my wall :( Im have terrible marker/crayon issues :( I no longer want any in my house...Noah finds them all, no matter how good I think I hide them....I could not wait for Armando to get home.

We planned to go to the new Target tonight and Farmer's Market to walk around and have dinner. As soon as Armando got home, we left. Then a few minutes before we got there Anisa fell asleep until the last 10 minutes of us being there. We had dinner on the side of a curb when we first got there then walked up and down a few times looking for a specific 'something fruity and fresh to drink. Noah didn't want to sit the whole time in the stroller, so he walked, then got held then he wanted to wander off solo and that was too much. As we were walking back to the truck, we stopped to see this juggling act. He was a little too dangerous for me, especially being in close range of small children with juggling machetes and fire wands, but he was still cool. Anisa woke up in time for that and thought it was neat. She didn't want to leave after that. I had to tell her we were going to the new Target and I was going to look for some candy's. She was all for it!

There was nothing super special about the new Target except I had coupons so I ended up walking out paying less that $35 out of pocket with over $95 of merchandise and MANY free items!

When we got home, Anisa helped me organize the items for a photo and it was time for a bed time story! Bear's Day Out was tonight top pick!

Chupon Hoarder

I have been trying to get rid of Noah's chupones since he turned 1 at the end of April. I have been very unsuccessful because it is Armando's cheat saver. Grrrrrr I wish I can throw them all away. And just when I think they are gone and no where to be found, Noah pulls them out of I have no idea where. I really do think he has a special stash that only he knows about. He finds chupones that I haven't seen in months....ahhhhh "someday little curly haired boy, someday....they will all disappear and you will have to soothe yourself"

Quick road trip with the little people

Today was the day Javi and Isa had to go back :( I offered to drive them back so I can spend more time with them and it worked. The original plan was to leave in the early afternoon, but I had overlooked traffic time in the bay is awful, so I rearranged my plan and ended up leaving a few hours earlier.

Kids woke up, had breakfast and loaded up the car. We opted to take Armando's car for 2 reasons, A) gas saver and B) the engine needed to run nonstop for smog purposes...we were squished but still fit. I hate driving his teeny car sometime cause it make me feel like im living in the flinstone age and pedaling with my feet. Haha...

On our way, kids wanted to stop and Wendy's and get their free frosty. We found one in Salinas and stopped. They had a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant (which I find to be odd in a fast food chain, but hey, kids enjoyed it, so kudos!)

Noah and Anisa did fairly well on the trip. Maybe the drives are growing on them! Still sucks at time though. And of course Javi and Isa began arguing and fight for reasons only a brother and sister would fully comprehend. I scolded them, because I really hate seeing how disrespectful they are to each other at times and sometime to others around them. I ended up giving them an assignment (since I can watch them write sentences) and they need to mail it to me. Their writing assignment is "What is Respect? What does it mean to me? What does it mean to my family? And how can I improve myself? I originally told them it had to be 1 page but after talking to their dad, he suggested longer, so 2 pages it is! It will help with their writing skills also.

Javi was actually looking forward to it. He even called me earlier this evening letting me know he was beginning to write it...man I miss them already. As much as they drive.me crazy, they are still my babies...

'I wanna ride on a firetruck' Tour

I set up a tour for the kids today at the Arroyo Grande Mesa Fire Station. Anisa was so excited and had been patiently looking forward to this day. I had to tell her that it would be on a day when Papi was at work, so she wouldn't keep asking and could associate that with our tour day!

Yesterday I reminded her and this morning when she woke up, she was super excited. It was not difficult to get them dressed or loaded into the truck!

When we arrived, there were 2 firemen waiting for us with stickers and hats. Noah was more than willing to wear one and didn't even try to take it off.

They took us on a tour through the station, their living room, kitchen and dorm rooms. Then finally the TRUCK! They showed the kids every gadget and even let them try on an firemen boots, pants and jacket! Javi tried on the boots and pants and Jesse had the Jacket. Together they made a fireman. They even started being goofy and Javi wanted to give Jesse a piggy back ride to make a complete man.

Anisa was a little shy, but when it was time to test the water hose, she was all for it! Before the tour was over, the kids were able to sit in the truck (Noah did not want to get out), they turned on the lights, sirens and honked the horn. They made kids run out into the grassy area before they put the sirens on. They were super loud, but kids loved it! They want me to schedule another tour....haaha, maybe ill do Guadalupe city next time :)

More Time Share fun!

After our few errands, we went to Avila to go swimming. This time, it was just me and the 4 kids. My cousin showed up later with the Cabby kiddies. I didn't know how I was going to do it by myself, usually Armando is there with me. Bit it worked. We sat at the steps and I held Noah. Anisa played close by and Javi and Isa were turning into fish!

My cousin met us there about an hour later and we grilled some lunch for kids. Noah was up and down everywhere while the rest of the kiddies were splashing around!

When kids were done eating and their food had settled, we let them back in the pool for a bit until we had to leave. Cabby kiddies and Javi & Isa were jumping into the 8ft side while Noah and Anisa were finally able to go into the kiddie pool (it was closed when we first got there because some kid had an accident and they had to drain and disinfect the pool). It was a perfect size for Noah to sit and and perfect for Anisa to play on her own. She kept jumping in over and over. I love how Noah & Anisa are getting braver in the water!

Oil Change=Happy Truck

I had to take my truck in to get an oil change. Usually I would have done it myself, but I didn't have enough time to get it done & go on with our plans.

After calling around to a few places, I decided to take it in to Jiffy Lube. It was on our way and they had less people waiting. As soon as we got there, it seemed like everyone decided to show up. Luckily we were first!

It took me forever to unload the kids (and load them back up) We were there about 20 minutes and I thought it would be alot worse with all 4 kids, bit it actually wasn't too bad...(surprising-every event turns into a meltdown, but not this one!)

Hair chopper :(

I know many parents go through these little moments with their little ones. I just though I would be one of the parents that would not have to deal with it. I mean Isabel did it, but not to herself, but to her play rocking horse....

See every morning, I try to sneak in at least an extra hour of sleep. And everytime, I sleep with one eye open, wondering what mischief Anisa gets into. Yes Anisa, because the older ones are too old for certain mischiefs and Noah's only mischief is eating cookies or writing on himself or walls :/

Well this particular morning,Whiskey was extra needy so I asked Anisa to open the sliding door, I heard her say ok but never actually heard the door. But dozed off until I heard Whiskey scratching the door again. I finally got up and my first stop is always the restroom. (Ok i know TMI but ill say it anyway) As I was sitting on the toleeto, I noticed all of this hair on the floor, I touched my hair cause maybe I was shedding with every step. But no, not me. I looked in the trash and saw a glob of hair. First thought was Isa, but hers is too blonde. Then I thought Armando trimmed his hair last night, but the hair was too long. And then my fear. Anisa chopped her hair :( I yelled her name and she came 'yes mommy' I examined her hair but didn't notice any craziness. Thank goodness her hair is funky anyway cause it all blends so well. I couldn't really get mad at her but I did tell her not to touch the scissors anymore.

I may be partial to blame :( Yesterday as I was taking the mini rubberbands out of her hair, I grabbed the scissors and cut them off. I told her that she is not to use the scissors, only mommy does it. She said ok. But I should have known that with me doing that, it opened a can of worms...aye ye ye...so thankful it wasn't an obvious cut.

Want to be JUST like Daddy

We were watching a movie & Noah decided to ditch us and entertain his self. After wandering everywhere, and torturing everyone, he finally sat at Armando's feet and started to play with his sandal. When I turned to look down at him, he was trying on Armando's sandal. He finally figured it out and was so proud of himself that he was able to put it on correctly. He is growing into such a smart little boy...he is AWESOME!

Hi Mountain Road/Little Big Falls

A few days ago, I was told about this little adventure and was told the kids would have a blast. We decided we wanted to do it yesterday, but opted to hike Bishop's Peak instead so planned for it today. After doing some research, I got scared because the sites I read said you needed a 4x4 vehicle to cross the creeks otherwise walk...well we all know that walking with Isabel, Anisa & Noah is not the easiest thing in the world (which is why they wanted to stay with Nina B yesterday while we hiked the Peak).

I just panicked for a minute that we were going to get trapped in the back of Lopez Lake somewhere. Even though we do have a Suburban, it was just one of the '2nd guessing' moments.

Armando and I decided we would give it a shot anyway and if we couldn't make it, then we would just turn around...We MADE IT with no trouble (just a few panic moments). Kids were so excited.

We drove out to Lopez Lake and just before driving in to the lake entrance, we made a right at Hi Mountain Road. We followed the road and many twists and turns for about 8 miles un til we got to the 'mini parking' area. That was the beginning of the real adventure!

Our goal was to get to Little Falls, but we apparently didn't pay attention to the sign right because we kept driving for 4 miles to Big Falls. We crossed many many creeks. When we got to the first one, I again freaked out because I did not know if we were going to make it. We are newbies with the Subie and I just didn't want to get stuck in the water. It really wasn't that deep. I got out to 'scope' it out. Water was crystal clear and so pretty. It was knee high, so the Subie was perfect. Anisa was so excited after we crossed it, she looked at me and said 'wow mom, that was so cool' Haha! We had to cross about 8 more to get to our destination. The scenic drive was beautiful. There were horses, and goats and lots of green...there were also quite a few houses out there. The drive there was awesome! (Except our minor gas issue. It seemed like we were driving forever and our gas gauge was getting closer and closer to empty, and the second we said we were going to have to turn around, we found our destination)

We had to hike up about another mile or two to get to the falls. And cross quite a few small creeks. Whiskey was terrified to cross the creek, but he did it! The kids of course enjoyed hiking in the water!

When we got to the falls, we saw that the way we went wasn't really child friendly. We didn't know any other way and didn't want to get lost, so we headed back to a water hole we saw, that was an easier access for kids and that they would enjoy.

It was so pretty, like a scene from a fairy movie. Noah loved walking around in the water and the kids had so much fun splashing and trying to skip rocks. We debated on whether to let Whiskey off the leash or not because we didn't know how he would react to full fledge freedom. He did run off for a split second, because other people had their dogs and Whiskey went to greet.

We only stayed for about an hour, because we did get started late. But next time we know where we are going and what to expect. This was definitely a 'must do' family adventure! We can't wait to go again!
